A boutique operation centred on innovative storytelling across platforms, Pop Sandbox brings together a diverse group of top practitioners from a variety of disciplines into a creative environment that fosters innovation in both content and form, resulting in a strong track record of groundbreaking properties with a specialty in non-fiction.

Pop Sandbox has been showcased at the Cannes Film Festival, SXSW, Games for Change, the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), Hot Docs, the Tokyo Game Show, Indiecade East and PAX East among many others.

Alex Jansen

Alex Jansen is the founder and owner of Pop Sandbox, and has produced or directed numerous award-winning films, video games, graphic novels and interactive experiences, featured by Cannes, the Toronto International Film Festival, SXSW, IDFA, the New York Times and many others.

Alex has been invited to speak on Pop Sandbox’ unique cross-platform storytelling approach at the Cannes Film Festival, the International Documentary Festival Amsterdam, NXNE, CFC Media Lab, the University of Toronto, Brock University, Ryerson University, McMaster University, Humber College, Durham College, Sheridan College, Centennial College, the Ontario College of Art & Design’s Executive Master of Design in Advertising Program and many more.

Prior to starting Pop Sandbox, Alex built and lead the Home Entertainment division at Mongrel Media, one of Canada’s premiere film distribution companies. He is founder of the Kingston Canadian Film Festival, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, and teaches part-time with Queen’s Film and Media.

Tristan Tiggeloven

Tristan Tiggeloven

Tristan Tiggeloven is an established project manager, emerging producer and entertainment industry professional that has worked across multiple different platforms including film, TV and interactive media.

Tristan is currently a Producer and Creative Director for the ON-FOOT Mobile App. He began working with Pop Sandbox through the competitive CMPA National Producer Mentorship Program. Starting as an Associate Producer, he worked on the 10th anniversary KENK Interactive Graphic Novel, Inside KENK broadcast documentary and LOUD on Planet X videogame.

Prior to joining Pop Sandbox, Tristan worked on several award-winning interactive projects including the Digital Emmy Award nominated Time Tremors. He worked for the interactive production company Xenophile Media for three years in a variety of roles including Business Affairs Manager, Project Manager and Assistant Producer.
